A small kitchen face-lift and new appliances yielded just enough of a kitchen renovation to please this young family.
This couple loves to cook, so they decided to pamper their dated kitchen. Initially, they were going to just switch out their electric stovetop for a gas range, but one thing led to another and today they have a new and improved kitchen complete with stainless steel appliances and freshened-up cabinets. And the best news is that there was no major construction. Smart choices and creative use of space made a big difference in the overall functionality and appearance without the homeowners having to start from scratch.
With white cabinets, smooth countertops, and a coordinating backsplash, the kitchen is timeless and comfortable. Walls are painted in a satin finish; cabinets were modified, refaced, and painted in an eggshell finish. The top cabinets now extend to the ceiling for extra storage. Above the bar, the upper cabinets were replaced with a built-in wine rack, which visually opens the room and offers easy access for entertaining. Bold, bright-green accents add pops of color and a personal touch.
The freestanding five-burner gas range/oven is suitable for the typical home cook as well as for those looking to expand their culinary skills. The integrated griddle, which features easy-to-remove, dishwasher-safe grates, is perfect for pancakes, grilled cheeses, and other family favorites. The burners vary in power, with some generating higher heat for rapid boiling, searing, and frying and others less heat for simmering.
The side-by-side refrigerator has been a favorite addition to the kitchen. The shelving, drawers, and bins provide ample storage space. The ice maker is especially useful for entertaining large groups of friends and family. An electronic clean cycle maintains clear, fresh ice.
The hidden vent on the microwave saves on space. New and improved “staged cooking” allows you to custom program multiple power levels and cooking durations without the need to watch the microwave.
